ABOUT UTC Yes! Umeå Triathlon Club has done it again. First on the web among the Swedish Tri Clubs. Founded in february 1993. We are certainly the ones with most miles on the roads - by car. We have 650 km to the nearest race apart from are own and one more. But it's pretty nice to drive a car. Too Bad we have to go the same roadcourse for about 500 km wherever we are heading. One comfort is the lunchstop that we normally have every time at the same place. Restaurant Kermit in Sundsvall. They have the largest pizzas in the world - UFO-pizza. Thats some of a preparation before a race.
Sometime we are serious too. We arrange a race by the name Umetriaden . 1996 its host for the Swedish championships at the classic distance and the relays. The date is 20-21/7. YOU are of course very welcome to take part of this happening. See more info on our Umetriaden Home Page.
Today there are about 20 active members in the club that train and compete regulary. Our sponsor no 1 is "Loket". Well, we have to work a lot for the money, but without him we would be completely bankrupt. If you our your company would like to support our club, you are welcome to contact us. We consider all propositions.

TRAINING
In the winter we have two swimsessions a week together. The most of us also train cross country skiing. "Vasaloppet", the 90 km classic, is the highlight of the winterseason. In April 1996 some of us are going to Mallorca, Spain for a trainingweek. In the raceseason we try to have a trainingrace each week, a duathlon or a triathlon.

Niklas Adamsson. He got his nickname because he runs like one. The editor of our clubpaper, UTC-NYTT. Best discipline: Eating .

THE BEAST
Tomas Bäckström. He would surely win a Butthead look-a-like contest. Worst discipline: Swimming
